In the world of Total War: Warhammer II, set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, you may notice some factions outshine others in their styles of war. Ultimate the goal is of course to gain enough favour of all 4 gods, to become the universal champion of chaos.Which factions can you dominate the battlefield with? The more favour you have, the more "blessings" and more and stronger daemons of that god. Of course you can build temples, make quest/mission or sacrifice enemy cities for them, to gain they favour as well (with the same consequence). But since the chaos gods don't like each other you would lose favour by the others (special heavy lost for the nemesis of your god). Through this you would gain the favour of the god as the whole faction.
Every single char makes a choice if he will be either a champion of chaos undivided or a champion of one of the 4 gods. I actually would like a kind of favour system with the dark gods. I just think that there should be a huge amount of tribes and all those tribes get to choose one of 5 thingsĪll with unique daemon units art styles, and abilities and such. If/when Chaos or Chaos affiliated armies become available, it would be interesting to see what they do. I understand the argument about Beastmen and Daemons specifically, though. Nothing stops you from doing that in table top, so I don't see why the game should limit a Chaos army to only one particular god. I don't see why there can't be one big faction that kind of has a bit of everything. So what do you mean when you say you want to play as Chaos, all of these as one "race" condensed into a single faction or as having them all as their own "races" and subdivided into different factions? Beastmen and Warriors of Chaos are both their own separate "races" when it comes to the Codex and then there are the Demons of the different gods that make up another Codex "Race" which is just the Demons manifested not the mortal worshipers.
As such there are actually 5 factions within the Warriors of Chaos and Beastmen, Undivided, Khorne worshipers, Slannesh worshipers, Tzeench worshipers, and Nurgle worshipers. This is actually quite complex as the worshipers of the 4 Chaos Gods don't usually work together very well.
